Huawei and Telefonica Chile deployed the world's first 400G WDM network based on OTN

Huawei is the operator Telefonica Chile announced that this year implement the world's first commercial network wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) 400G OTN based on using advanced technologies 100G and 400G. This network will be the fastest in the industry city network WDM.

Telefonica Chile Company started construction of LTE networks and IPTV in Chile in 2013. It is expected that in the next few years on the bandwidth of these networks lies a huge load. To address this issue Telefonica Chile plans to deploy WDM metro network in the city of Santiago, Chile's capital, where about 40% of the population and account for 45% of its GDP. In this regard, Santiago presents the greatest bandwidth requirements in comparison with other cities of Chile.

The project will use technology 100G Huawei, as well as technology-based 400G PDM-16QAM to provide maximum bandwidth for data centers in Santiago. Superfast transmission system support based multiplexing OTN, cross-connect and manage a variety of traffic to optimize the flexibility and efficiency of transmission.
