Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 with TD-LTE support certified in China

China Mobile, China’s and the world’s largest mobile carrier (in terms of subscriber base), is set to launch its TD-LTE network on December 18 this year, in the country’s bid to move to faster internet networks. Apple’s new iPhones are rumored to be launching on the same day on China Mobile with support for the new network, and now it turns out Samsung isn’t going to be too far behind – TD-LTE-enabled variants of both the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9008V) and Galaxy S4 (GT-I9508C) have been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) recently, and could launch alongside the iPhone before the year ends.
China’s upcoming 4G networks are expected to be one of the factors driving smartphone growth in the future (as the Western world faces saturation, especially in the high-end smartphone market), so the move to get both the S4 and Note 3 certified for the world’s largest carrier’s 4G network isn’t a surprising one. Both devices have already sold in the millions, and the launch on China Mobile might just add a few more million to those sales figures.
