There is a mystery smartphone that certified by Chinese Authorities in China. It is the ZTE S221. Almost all specs of the ZTE S221 had been revealed to the public.
The ZTE S221 has a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The display is a Full HD level display. It is powered by a quad-core processor that clocked at 1.7GHz as revealed by the filing. Basically, it is the Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T processor (Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.2GHz and above while the Tegra 4 clocked at 1.9GHz and above). The RAM memory is 2GB but no information for internal storage. One thing for sure is ZTE S221 supports MicroSD expansion.
The main camera of ZTE S221 is at least 8-megapixel and above while the front-facing camera is a 2-megapixel camera. The main camera supports FHD 1080p video recording feature. Other notable features are MicroUSB, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack.
ZTE S221 supports GSM and TD-SCDMA networks in China. However, it isn’t exclusively for China Mobile in the Chinese market. The dimension of the device is 154×77×7.9mm and the weight is 156g. ZTE S221 is available in black and white colors.
From the images above, it looks like the ZTE S221 has metal material on the back plate. There is also a speaker and LED flash on the back as well. Lastly, the Oppo R829T runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is two versions behind.
Recently, there is a device ZTE Grand S II that was spotted in the AnTuTu Benchmark database. From the specs of the ZTE S221, it is possible that ZTE S221 is the model number of ZTE Grand S II, which had scored more than 33,000 points on AnTuTu. The only doubt is the Snapdragon 600 of ZTE S221 as the processor is unable to reach 33,000 points.
