Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Update is Now Rolling Out

Yesterday we detailed an update that was set to roll out to Galaxy Note 3owners on Verizon, and according to many of our readers, the update is now live. The update to JSS15J.N900VVRUBMJE brings a mass of bug fixes, as well as four new bloatware applications for you to either hide or completely disable if you so choose. Don’t worry, we won’t tell Big Red.
On top of added on bloatware, various fixes for incoming call displays, handwriting data entry, and email sync issues have been included. Users should also see improvements in connectivity and sound quality as well.
The full changelog is below.

Verizon Galaxy Note 3 OTA update now rolling out (JSS15J.N900VVRUBMJE)

Verizon posted details about an incoming update to its Galaxy Note 3 yesterday, and now the update has begun rolling out to devices. It carries the build number JSS15J.N900VVRUBMJE, and includes numerous bug fixes, four new Verizon apps and widgets (yay for more bloatware), and improvements to connectivity and sound quality. The full changelog can be seen in the image below, and as usual, the update will be rolling out gradually over the next few days, which means you’ll have to wait your turn for hopping on to the latest build on your Verizon Note 3.

Verizon’s Galaxy Note 3 gets another update, includes bug fixes and improvements

Verizon, North America’s largest and most-infamous carrier, is pushing out a new update to the Galaxy Note 3 with various bug fixes, improvements, and “enhancements”, enhancements which we know better as bloatware. The update fixes bugs such as handwriting data entry issue for email and SMS, an email sync issue, Samsung keyboard crash, and others, improves connectivity, sound, mobile hotspot reliability, and notification panel responsiveness, and adds new Verizon apps like Verizon Cloud, VMWare, and MyInfoZone widget.
Verizon hasn’t mentioned the build number for the new update nor a release time frame, but it should be heading out to devices before the week is over. As always, it will be available over-the-air, and it will be a few days before everyone using the Note 3 on Verizon’s network gets it.

Verizon Galaxy Note 3 on sale for $199.99 as part of Black Friday deal

Here’s another nice Black Friday deal, this time from the largest carrier in the US. The Galaxy Note 3 is currently only $199.99 on a two-year contract from Verizon, a $100 discount on the usually steep $299 price tag; an outright purchase will cost you $599. If a phablet isn’t your thing, then Verizon also has three Samsung tablets on a $150 discount: the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and Galaxy Note 10.1. Not exactly comparable to the Note 3 in hardware, but hey, a discount’s a discount, right?
Hit the links below to take advantage of the Black Friday deals from Verizon.

Verizon Black Friday Deals: Galaxy Note 3 for $199, JAMBOX at $99, 25% Off Mophie Power Station

Verizon has rolled out its Black Friday deals early this morning with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 looking like the best of the lot. Normally priced at $299 on-contract, Verizon has slashed the price to $199 on-contract for the day or $599 at full retail. If the Note 3 wasn’t on your radar, there are some other deals here and there that may be worth a look.
In terms of freebies, Big Red is handing out last year’s DROID RAZR HD at $0 on new contract, their new low-end 7″ tablet called the Ellipsis 7, and a 4G LTE Jetpack.
If you were looking for accessories, the Jawbone JAMBOX at $99 (was $149) or Mophie 4,000mAh Power Station at $59.99 (was $79.99) might be you best bets.
The rest of their deals look like this:

Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 Active available for free from Best Buy (with 2-year contract)

It’s Black Friday, and that means you can get quite a few great smartphones at prices lower than the standard prices. For those looking for a flagship device, Best Buy has an amazing deal going on – you can buy the Galaxy S4 for a zero upfront fee on a two-year contract on carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint, in white, black, blue, purple, and red colors (with the latter two exclusive to Sprint and AT&T, respectively). The Galaxy S4 Active is available for free as well, though only with an AT&T contract and in the color blue.
For those somehow unaware of the specs of the Galaxy S4 and S4 Active, here’s a reminder: the S4 sports a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5.0-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 13-megapixel rear camera, NFC and LTE connectivity, a 2,600mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with an update to Android 4.3 available. The S4 Active has the same specs, but is somewhat of a downgrade in the camera and screen department: there’s only an 8-megapixel camera and the screen is an LCD unit, though it makes up for those with its water- and dust-resistant construction.
Hit the source link to buy either device from Best Buy.

Drag to focus and expose. An updated camera app lets you control both the focus and exposure of your photos. Simply drag your finger to set just the right exposure and focus point.
And more… Restyled status and navigation bars, new full-screen mode, and enhancements to Motorola features like Touchless Control.

And this is just the beginning -- we will have more KitKat for Moto X news to share on other carriers and countries very soon.

Galaxy S III mini for Verizon listed on Samsung website

Samsung’s Galaxy S III mini for Verizon was recently leaked by @evleaks and the device is now listed on Samsung’s website, hinting the announcement is near. The year-old phone won’t wow you in features but it’s a practical device for users who don’t want to spend much.
On the specifications front, the device runs Android 4.2.2 OS and features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4G LTE support, 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 5MP camera, 2,000mAh battery and microSD card slot.
The phone also features S Voice, Easy Mode, Group Play, Share Shot, S Beam etc.

Verizon Galaxy S III mini surfaces on Samsung website [Update: Official]

UPDATE: It’s official. Order here for $49.99 on 2-year contract.

The leak late last month gave us an idea that Verizon will launch the Galaxy S III mini and the listing on Samsung US’ website confirms the same. The phone, just like on AT&T, will cater to the entry-level crowd with its affordable price tag and 4G LTE compatibility. If you’ll excuse the ‘logo-fied’ home button, you’ll find Android 4.2.2 running the device along with Samsung software enhancements like S Voice, Easy Mode, Group Play, Share Shot.

On the hardware side, it will come with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA (800×480) display, 5MP camera, 8GB memory, microSD card that supported up to 64GB and 2,000mAh battery that promises up to 11 hours of talk time.

There’s no fixed date for the release but we guess that an announcement should come in the next few days.

Verizon now selling the HTC One Max for $299

With exactly zero fanfare, Verizon today has begun selling the HTC One Max. It'll cost you $299 on contract, or $25.22 a month with the Verizon Edge plan. Outright, you'll be paying $599.
The HTC One Max is a large — 5.9-inch display, but the phone itself is a bit bigger than that thanks to the front-facing speakers — version of the HTC One, with the new Sense 5.5 software and a fingerprint sensor on the back for unlocking. You can open up the back to get to the SIM card and (yes!) the microSD card slot.
Here's how our own Alex Dobie put things in his official HTC One Max review:
So the One Max is more than a big HTC One, but also a lesser phone than the HTC One. If you’re after the full HTC experience on a larger display, well, for the most part, this is that device. And right now it's the closest you're going to get to an HTC tablet. But for most buyers the smaller, better-looking HTC One, or the higher-end and more manageable Galaxy Note 3 will be better options.

Nokia Lumia 2520 Available Nov. 21

Combining the functionality of a PC with the mobility of a tablet.

For some people, there has always been the want for a tablet but the need for the functionality of a PC. The upcoming Nokia Lumia 2520 fulfills both of those wants and needs, giving users a tablet with a PC experience.

When thinking about the “PC experience,” desktops and laptops are what usually come to mind. But the Lumia 2520 comes with Windows RT 8.1, so it combines the functionality of a PC – such as having Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student and Outlook RT – with the mobility of a tablet. The device also features 4G LTE connectivity, which is available in more than 500 markets, so users can spend less time looking for Wi-Fi and more time getting stuff done whether in the classroom, while traveling or playing around with the latest apps.

College students starting a new semester soon may be in need of a new device. Having Microsoft Office on a tablet means they can have study guides, class notes and that last-minute group project in one place. Students can upload their work and share it with the rest of the group and the professor before the deadline.

The Lumia 2520 also includes exclusive Nokia apps like HERE Maps to pre-plan trips and stay on track, especially with holiday travel coming up. After taking pictures with the 6.7-megapixel camera with Zeiss optics, shutterbugs can use the Nokia Storyteller app to maintain a timeline with images grouped by events and geographic location. Video chatting fans have Skype to talk face to face with friends and family around the world.

Gamers will have access to Xbox Live for games, movies, music and more all on the tablet. For additional apps, users can choose from more than 112,000 apps available through the Windows Store, including favorites like Facebook, Netflix, Angry Birds and Flipboard. The 8,000 mAh battery provides plenty of power so users can watch, game and browse throughout their day, and the battery also offers fast charging of up to 80 percent in about an hour.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 with 10.1-inch Full HD display will be available online and in select stores starting Nov. 21 for $499.99. For a limited time, customers can get the Lumia 2520 for $399.99 when purchasing with a new two-year activation. Customers can add the tablet to their Share Everything account for $10 per month.

The Black color model will be available in stores, and customers purchasing online can choose from Black or Red color models.

New tip puts Lumia 929 release on 21st November along with Lumia 2520 on Verizon.

Quick heads-up! A recent tip from a claimed Verizon insider puts Lumia 929 release on 21st November along with Lumia 2520. The release date for Lumia 2520 on Verizon may be quite possible, as it is already getting released on AT&T on 22nd November. Verizon already has the registration page up for Lumia 2520. But, it will be interesting to see whether Lumia 929 also gets released on this date, as it hasn’t yet been officially announced.

The tip also mentions that since these are getting released so close to Black Friday, there may be deals like Lumia 929 for just $199 and Lumia 2520 for $399 and may be similar deal of Lumia 2520 for only $199 when purchased with Lumia 929.

Our earlier info puts its release in 3rd-4th week of November, so may be it is about time. Keep your fingers crossed!!
